There is more to Wisconsin than their famous and delicious cheese. The Wiconsin State Genealogical Society in conjunction with The Schoenleber Foundation have developed another wonderful website for family historians to search. If you have family from Wisconsin this is a great site. They have the vital records birth, marriage, death records pre-1907 as well as published Wisconsin Name Index (WNI)records which include biographical sketches, obituaries, and newspaper articles prior to the year 2000, indexed and search able on this website. The information on the indexes are free to view, but if you would like to have a copy of the documents you are charged a fee of $15.00 for either the Vital Records or WNI records. A 10% discount is available to those who are members of the Wisconsin Historical Society (WHS).
